On the northern coast the holiday towns of Ilheus, Salvador da Bahia and Porto Seguro come complete with pristine golden beaches, while south of Rio, on the ‘Green Coast’, there are more than a hundred beaches surrounding a hinterland of Atlantic rainforest.

And while Brazil offers buzzing modern cities, alongside there are the colourful 16th century Portuguese colonial towns of notable historical interest. From the diamond and gold mining towns of Minas Gerais, to the slave trade ports of the State of Bahia, Brazil’s colourful past is clearly evident in its diverse culture, fine colonial buildings and unique and friendly people.
